Much like caring for another is an art form, as is caring for oneself. And as with any archetype, that of the Mother embodies both a light and shadow aspect. She can feel warm and protective, yet seemingly careless. She can feel alone in the process, yet fully supported. She can feel withholding, yet whole-heartedly giving. She might have abandoned, yet deeply loved.

Regardless of our relationship with our external mother, or even ourselves as a Mother, we can all benefit from supporting the Mother within. We’re breathing into the Mother wound and our internal source of life and growth — coming out on the other side with a closer connection to how we nourish and care for ourselves.

This could be an ideal class for a Mother/Child to attend together. If the topic feels extra tender, imagine the Earth as your mother, and breathe for Her wounds knowing your healing is Her healing.

We’ll begin class in circle with an introduction to the breath and a communal conversation around the theme of ‘Feeling & Healing” before diving into the main ingredient, the breath. We’ll close our time together in circle with tea, chocolate and conversation. Warm welcome.

What Is Breathwork?

This particular style of Breathwork is an active meditation technique that allows you to navigate and tend to your inner terrain by connecting with your breath to calm and ground your nervous system while relieving your mind and body of stuck, stagnant energy — in turn, creating a pathway for both an emotional and somatic release and the creation of new neural pathways.

Through liberating tension, stress and even limiting thought patterns, you’re better able to connect with the innate wisdom within, which can be a strong catalyst for opening your heart to honest self-love, self-healing, and self-acceptance.

Although it’s considered an activating breathwork practice, it has a feminine touch.
